Amazing Teen Race event assembles nest boxes in Crowsnest Pass
The Mountain Bluebird Trails Conservation Society (MBTCS) is always thrilled to hear from members with creative ideas to build awareness about Mountain Bluebird Conservation. Earlier this year we were contacted by a teacher from the Livingstone Range School Division to see if we could provide materials for an upcoming community event. Here is an update from Marnie Davidson, Principal at Isabelle Sellon School and Acting Principal, Horace Allen School:
On September 10th, 21 teams of youth ranging in ages from Grade 7-12 participated in the 7th annual Amazing Teen Race in the Crowsnest Pass. CNP 40 Assets puts on this yearly event to build skills in leadership, teamwork and community involvement for teenage youth.
One of the stations of the day was hosted by the Bellecrest Community Association - building Mountain Bluebird nesting boxes. The Bellecrest Association is grateful to the Mountain Bluebird Society for their donation of building materials for this event. Completed Bluebird nesting boxes will be placed within the Crowsnest Pass.
