‘Avian Summer’ film released by MBTCS Trail Monitor

Avian Summer is a wildlife documentary by Rick Andrews that features a variety of migratory birds that fly into Southern Alberta each spring - including the Mountain Bluebird. In the weeks that follow, they will need to find a mate, and successfully raise the next generation, before migrating south to their wintering grounds in the fall.

Rick Andrews is a conservation wildlife photographer and film maker as well as an active Trail Monitor with the Mountain Bluebird Trail Conservation Society. Avian Summer was filmed over the past two years. The 37 minute film features a number of scenes from Rick’s Mountain Bluebird Trail at Birds Eye Ranch, including interior nest box perspectives of the development of young bluebirds, from eggs to fledglings.

Avian Summer is a must watch! It provides a delightful assortment of high definition video of several bird species across different life stages and documents the challenges they face along the way. The film is a great opportunity to see and learn about the birds of Southern Alberta.

You can watch Avian Summer online now.

The film is available on the Vimeo platform and is relatively easy to stream on any device or television. Please share the film with friends, family, and your birding buddies!!
