Myrna Pearman’s updated bluebird guide now available through MBTCS

Whether you care for a bluebird trail or are planning to install your first nest box, good information can help you get started and build your confidence.

The Mountain Bluebird Trails Conservation Society (MBTCS) has invested $1,000 in copies of Myrna Pearman’s newly released Mountain Bluebird Trail Monitoring Guide - Third Edition and is pleased to share this practical resource with the community.

Published by the Red Deer River Naturalists, the updated guide draws on the experience of bluebird trail operators across North America. It combines new information with proven techniques in a booklet small enough to carry along on the trail.

Readers will find guidance on establishing and maintaining a trail, choosing suitable nest box designs, identifying the age of nestlings and recording nesting results. The guide also explores Mountain Bluebird natural history, offers advice on common trail challenges and connects readers with other bluebird resources and organizations. MBTCS was pleased to contribute to the updated edition.

For experienced monitors, it is a useful reference. For newcomers, it offers clear steps to turn an interest in bluebirds into hands-on conservation.

Copies are available through MBTCS for $10 each. The Society also plans to donate copies to local schools, helping introduce more young people to bluebird conservation.
